Cam McEvoy
Cam McEvoy has achieved remarkable success throughout his career. At just 16 and 17, he broke Ian Thorpe’s age records in the 100m freestyle and was the youngest member of the Australian swim team at the 2012 London Olympics.
McEvoy excelled at the 2016 Australian Championships, becoming the first Australian man to win all three sprint freestyle events at a single meet. He then earned two bronze medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics. At the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, he won bronze in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay.
A highlight of his career came at the 2023 World Championships in Japan, where he won the 50m freestyle final with a time of 21.06, ranking as the fourth-fastest performer in history.
Beyond his athletic achievements, McEvoy is known for his humility, intelligence, and diverse interests in science, fashion, technology, and other sports. Coaches have praised his competitive spirit and ability to manage pressure.
McEvoy made his name known at the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning gold in the 50m freestyle. His performance, a testament to his incredible speed and skill, was driven by his commitment and passion. As he put it, “I put my heart and soul on the line,” and it showed in every stroke.
