Shayna Jack
Shayna Jack, a four-time Commonwealth Games medallist, made her mark with the Australian Swimming team at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. Specializing in freestyle, she has achieved notable success both individually and as part of relay teams.
Despite facing significant challenges, including a 2019 banned substance controversy, Jack made a remarkable comeback after proving the positive test was due to contamination and successfully appealing her four-year suspension. "I wanted to quit, I wanted to move on and just give it all up. I guess the only reason I didn't was because the people who knew my goals and my dreams reminded me that I shouldn't, and I should fight to the end and prove everyone wrong." (bbc.co.uk, 19 May 2022).
In recent years, Jack has excelled, earning 5 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze medals across three World Championships since 2022. Remarkably, Jack played a key role in Team Australia's setting a new World Record in the 4x100m freestyle relay.
Jack made her Olympic debut in Paris, winning gold in the 4x100m relay and the 4x200m freestyle realy as a heat swimmer. Overcoming challenges with determination, she now proudly calls herself a two-time Olympian!
